Mental health professionals often think about resilience as a client’s ability to “bounce back” after adversity. However, research in positive psychology suggests that resilience is not a static ability, but rather a skill set that can be taught and developed through intentional practice. In this workshop, we will review research about evidence-based tools for building resilience, based on the work of influential writers and scholars. This workshop will help providers create a toolbox of strategies to help clients increase positive emotions, build self-awareness, focus on purpose, and prioritize meaningful relationships. We will conclude the workshop with a self-compassion exercise.

This is an interactive synchronous distance learning course via Zoom.
