Since the success of the writers of the "Irish Renaissance," including Nobel laureate W. B. Yeats (1865-1939), Irish poetry has continued to thrive. This course continues a survey of poetry in Irish (in translation) and English since the 1930s. This term's focus will be the poetry of the following writers: Michael Longley (b. 1939), Liam O Muirthile (b. 1950), Medbh McGuckian (b. 1950), Mary O'Malley (b. 1954), and Louis de Paor (b. 1961).
