Developed by docents from the Opera Theater of St. Louis, this course offers context and insights into four operas featured in the 2025 festival season. Each session will focus on a different opera: Johann Strauss' humorous and luscious Die Fledermaus, a new work titled This House by Ricky Ian Gordon and Pulitzer Prize-winning Lynn Nottage, Donizetti's topsy-turvy Don Pasquale, and Britten's enchanting A Midsummer Night's Dream. Presentations will provide background on each opera, its composer and librettist, as well as an overview of the story, complemented by scenes from the productions.
