Current evidence-based treatments address core emotional processes that are shared across different psychological disorders such as anxiety, depression, and other related emotional disorders.  These are called trans-diagnostic processes.  This training focuses on adapting trans-diagnostic processes to meet the unique needs of children and adolescents by helping them to link these processes to trans-diagnostic interventions flexibly.

Throughout this course, participants will explore the fundamental principles of trans-diagnostic interventions, including emotion regulation, cognitive restructuring, and exposure-based strategies. Participants will gain a deepening understanding of core trans-diagnostic processes that underlie and maintain anxiety and depression in youth and how to tailor interventions to address these underlying processes in developmentally congruent ways. Participants will learn how to identify and address avoidance behaviors and enhance emotional awareness and experience while strengthening additional coping skills that promote resilience and persistence in youth.

Class size is limited to 25.
