This course is specifically designed for low intermediate learners (B1) and will be held two times per week for 12 weeks. Each class session will be three hours long. The class aims is to develop your English skills, which will be beneficial for both your education and career goals. Throughout the course, we will focus on enhancing your reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, as well as improving your understanding of English grammar and vocabulary related to your personal life, education, and career. Together with our classmates, we will improve our speaking by preparing for a variety of conversations and presentations. We will also focus on developing our digital literacy by learning how to navigate online resources, write clear emails, develop coherent paragraphs, and create a variety of documents and other written assignments commonly used in school, at work, and beyond. We will explore topics related to goal setting, managing daily life, and navigating post-secondary education in the US. We will also practice essential skills for finding and applying for jobs, as well as communicating clearly at the workplace. After successfully completing this course, students will be eligible to enroll in Career English II.
