3 CEs

In this workshop, we will explore the critical role of psychological safety in enabling all team members, especially those who are most marginalized, to thrive. Through personal reflection and group discussion, participants will identify what psychological safety looks like and name common organizational barriers to achieving it. In particular, we will examine how certain long-standing organizational norms and behaviors – often shaped by historical power dynamics and dominant workplace standards – can inhibit psychological safety. We'll explore traits such as perfectionism, either/or thinking, and defensiveness – how they show up in institutional culture, and how we can begin to interrupt them. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of psychological safety and feel more equipped to foster inclusive, trust-based environments within their own teams and organizations.

This workshop meets the Missouri & Illinois social work licensure requirement for 3 hours of continuing education in cultural competency/humility.

This is an in-person workshop that will be held on Washington University’s Danforth Campus. The exact location and direction will be emailed to registered participants before the course date.
