Postpartum Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) affect up to one in five birthing individuals, yet they remain under-recognized and undertreated—particularly among racially and ethnically minoritized communities and LGBTQ2S+ parents. These conditions can emerge at any time during the perinatal period, from pregnancy through the first year after childbirth, impacting not only the birthing individual but also the well-being of infants, partners, and families.

This interactive workshop is designed for social workers, nurses, behavioral health providers, and other healthcare professionals seeking to strengthen their clinical competence in perinatal mental health. Through case examples, practice scenarios, and reflection, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to recognize PMADs early, respond with empathy and precision, and connect families to timely, culturally responsive care.

This is an interactive synchronous distance learning course via Zoom.
