BRWN-010356 - Understanding Neurodiversity for Mental Health Professionals

Preferred registration deadline: February 2nd This workshop will be conducted in a virtual Zoom meeting format. 3 CEU/CPH units Neurodivergence is a term used to explain the unique ways people's brains work. Neurodivergent individuals may experience differences in how they interpret, experience, and digest the world around them. This workshop aims to equip mental health clinicians with the latest knowledge and tools to better understand and support neurodivergent clients with diagnoses like autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and others. We will provide an in-depth analysis of the neurodiversity movement and its implications for mental health practice. We will address the challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals, the strengths and talents they possess, and evidence-based strategies for supporting their mental health and well-being. This workshop will promote a strengths-based approach to promote inclusion and equality for neurodiverse individuals in all aspects of life.
