Learner Outcomes
- Identify common symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and describe the use of evidence-based assessment tools, including semi-structured interviews and self-report measures.
- Describe the core components of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) as recovery-focused treatments for PTSD.
- Recognize the importance of culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches to PTSD assessment and treatment and identify strategies for adapting interventions to meet diverse client needs.
Course Completion Requirements:
- The Brown School, Washington University in St. Louis, Professional Development, provider #2130, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 9/24/2024 – 9/24/2025. Social workers completing this course receive 3 general continuing education credits.
