BRWN-010337 - Ethical Dilemmas in Social Work with Youth: Navigating Youth Culture and Development

Preferred registration deadline: July 14th ONLINE: This workshop will be conducted in a virtual Zoom meeting format. 3 CEUs Developmental level and youth culture can create situations that leave professionals uneasy about the “right” thing to do. This workshop explores the ethical challenges of working with teens and young adults and develops strategies to navigate those dilemmas. We will define what constitutes an ethical dilemma, explore why dilemmas with teens and young adults can be especially challenging, and discuss how to incorporate the NASW Code of Ethics into their understanding of ethical dilemmas. Participants are asked to come prepared with a dilemma they have faced in their own practice to use as an example. Group discussion will include working with other attendees to solve the example dilemma using the presented model. This class meets the licensure requirement for 3 hours of continuing education in ethics.
