Preferred registration deadline: October 21st This workshop will be conducted in a virtual Zoom meeting format. 3 CEUs Attending to the psychosocial needs of survivors and caregivers has grown substantially as an essential focus in cancer care. Effective working relationships between the cancer survivor, their family, social network, and medical care systems empower survivors to more fully participate in recovery, improving quality of life and treatment follow-through. Social service professionals often play key roles to facilitate these positive outcomes or are called in to intercede when a survivor’s support needs are unmet.   This workshop will address each stage of the cancer journey from diagnosis and building the care team, through treatment, to aftercare and beyond. We will learn strategies to help survivors build their care team and respond to social, emotional, and spiritual challenges cancer may elicit within the often complex lives of families. The workshop material leverages empirical research including multicultural issues, the instructor’s clinical expertise, and his own experience as a cancer survivor and family member. General Admission: $60**   Class size is limited to 30. **Discounts on workshop admission are offered to the Brown School’s students, alumni, and field instructors. We also offer a discount to full-time graduate students in other programs and to our Washington University faculty/staff colleagues. No other discounts are available.
