Recently, substantive changes went into effect in NASW’s Code of Ethics regarding the imperative of self-care. As social workers and mental health professionals, we have an ethical responsibility to engage in effective self-care, both professionally and personally. This workshop will outline the latest changes in the Code of Ethics and explore various strategies of self-care that social workers and other helping professionals can utilize for themselves as well as employ with clients. Using the Wheel of Self-Care, we will discuss effective strategies for physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and professional self-care. Participants will be invited to share helpful resources and effective self-care strategies that they use personally and in their own practice settings with clients.

This class meets the licensure requirement for 3 hours of continuing education in ethics.

General Admission: $60**

Class size is limited to 50.

**Discounts on workshop admission are offered to the Brown School’s students, alumni, and field instructors. We also offer a discount to full-time graduate students in other WU programs and to our Washington University faculty/staff colleagues. No other discounts are available. Admission discounts can be selected in the checkout process.
