Preferred registration deadline: November 29th 3 CEUs/CPH units Most individuals with a substance use disorder also experience other co-occurring mental health disorders, many of which can be linked to suicidal behaviors. It is often unclear which disorder manifested first, but the co-morbidities can complicate each other, leaving the person caught in a tangled cycle of self-injurious behaviors and substance use. Stigma associated with substance use disorder often further isolates impacted people and exacerbates their struggle. This presentation will explore the connection between substance use and suicide. We will examine what the statistics tell us about risk and discuss how to address concerns with affected individuals. This class meets the Missouri requirement for at least 2 CEUs in suicide continuing education each licensure period. General Admission: $60**   Class size is limited to 45. **Discounts on workshop admission are offered to the Brown School’s students, alumni, and field instructors.
