Working with adolescents in a group setting offers a powerful modality for growth, connection, and change. This interactive workshop will provide participants with knowledge and skills for understanding the stages of group development and facilitating effective groups with adolescents. After an overview of group development stages and an introduction to the experiential learning theory, participants will be actively involved in a variety of activities that effectively engage youth as they navigate through each stage of the groupwork process.  Techniques for addressing challenging behaviors in groups will be provided, and participants will leave with a toolkit of ideas, resources, and skills that can be immediately put into practice in therapeutic, psychoeducational, and support groups.

This is an in-person workshop that will be held on Washington University’s Danforth Campus. The exact location and directions will be emailed to registered participants before the course date.
