Preferred registration deadline: September 11th This workshop will be conducted in a virtual Zoom meeting online format. 3 CEUs About 6 million adults in the US each year have traumatic experiences that lead to the development post-traumatic stress disorder. Given this prevalence and the toll PTSD takes on the lives of those suffering from the disorder, it is essential for mental health professionals to be equipped with the ability to diagnose and make informed treatment recommendations. This course will develop your ability to assess for PTSD using DSM-V criteria, giving you an understanding of risk factors and protective factors associated with developing PTSD. The available evidence to support current PTSD treatments will be discussed, as will common co-morbid psychiatric conditions that often present alongside PTSD.
