BRWN-011007 - Navigating the Grief Process: Bridging Loss and Growth Through Prolonged Grief Treatment
Preferred registration deadline: August 28th
6 CEs
Loss is a universal experience, and grief is the natural process that helps individuals navigate life after loss and move forward over time. While this process is often adaptive, some individuals experience disruptions that leave them feeling stuck and unable to adjust, a clinical presentation recognized as Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD).
This 2-part workshop provides a clinically grounded overview of the grief process, including common reactions to loss, variations in grief experiences, and factors that may interfere with adaptation. Participants will learn to assess PGD, differentiate it from other mental health conditions, and identify when clinical intervention is warranted. We will also introduce Prolonged Grief Treatment (PGT), an evidence-based treatment designed to help individuals re-engage with the grief process and continue moving forward after loss. Practical resources for clinicians and clients, including training and consultation opportunities, will be reviewed to support continued learning and application in clinical practice.
This is an interactive synchronous distance learning course via Zoom.
