This course offers the opportunity to create your own one-act play over an eight-week period, focusing on essential elements such as setting, plot, conflict, character, and dialogue. Whether you choose to write a comedy, drama, mystery, or science fiction piece, this class will guide you through the creative process. Before the first class: Read the Foreword, Chapters 1 & 2 of Naked Playwriting (2023 edition); Write a short piece of dialogue (up to 400 words); Consider one of these situations (or create your own): A breakup, missing an appointment, losing a phone or a minor/major relationship conflict; Use two or, at most, three characters.
