In this course, members will explore the concept of free market fundamentalism, which posits that markets function best without government intervention. The course will examine the history of this idea and consider contemporary critiques of free markets. Members will also discuss key economic questions being debated today, such as whether GDP measures economic strength, what causes inflation, how large the national debt can grow, and how tariffs work. The course will include a mix of small group discussions and facilitator commentary to foster an engaging learning experience.
