0067 - Tips, Tricks, and Tools to Enhance Virtual Facilitation and Training Skills

This highly interactive virtual workshop will deepen participants’ understanding of effective virtual facilitation practices that can be applied in a variety of formal learning structures. Using Kolb’s experiential learning theory and Knowles' adult learning model as foundational approaches, participants will be introduced to a number of virtual activities that demonstrate how to use educational technology and digital pedagogy to increase engagement and enhance course or training outcomes.
This is an interactive synchronous distance learning course via Zoom.

Course Outline
Content Level: Intermediate
Target Audiences: Professionals who design and lead trainings, workshops, and other in formal learning experiences for adult learners.
Agenda:
- Introductions and Setting the Stage for Training (15 minutes)
- Kolb's Experiential Learning Theory (30 minutes)
- Applying Kolb's theory: interactive activity and discussion (30 minutes)
- Knowles' Adult Learning Theory (30 minutes) Applying Knowles' theory: interactive activity and discussion (30 minutes)
- Training reflection activity (15 minutes)
- Training application activity: agenda setting and lesson planning (30 minutes)
*A 5-minute break will occur approximately halfway through the workshop.
Learner Outcomes
- Describe how to structure online/virtual workshops, classes and trainings to align with adult learning principles.
- Apply the experiential learning cycle to a variety of online/virtual activities and lesson plans.
- Use technology enhanced activities to increase participant engagement in online/virtual courses or trainings.
Course Completion Requirements:
