Preferred registration deadline: July 5th

This workshop will be held in person at the Brown School.

3 CEUs/CPH units

As our world becomes increasingly divided, the need for individuals and groups to have better tools for effectively engaging in difficult conversations grows exponentially.  LARA (Listen, Affirm, Respond, and Ask Questions) is a powerful tool, developed by the Quakers in 1992, to help individuals and groups have necessary and often difficult conversations with goals to do no harm, to see the humanity in the other person, and to gain a greater understanding of different perspectives. In this workshop, we will learn the history behind the creation of LARA, explore the challenges we bring to having difficult conversations, practice using the LARA model, and reflect on its real-world application.

General Admission: $60**

Class size is limited to 30.

**Discounts on workshop admission are offered to the Brown School’s students, alumni, and field instructors. We also offer a discount to full-time graduate students in other WU programs and to our Washington University faculty/staff colleagues. No other discounts are available. Admission discounts can be selected in the checkout process.
