As our understanding of cognitive diversity evolves, mental health professionals must adapt their practice to be truly inclusive. This workshop equips clinicians with tools to support neurodivergent clients through a neuro-affirming lens. Designed for clinicians seeking to move beyond deficit-based frameworks, the session explores the lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals (including those with autism, ADHD, and dyslexia). Participants will analyze the systemic challenges and unique cognitive strengths associated with neurodivergence while gaining evidence-informed strategies to support mental well-being. By adopting a neuro-affirming, strengths-based approach, clinicians will be better equipped to promote inclusion and equity for neurodivergent clients across the lifespan.

This is an interactive synchronous distance learning course via Zoom. This workshop meets the social work licensure requirement for 3 hours of continuing education in diversity/cultural competency/humility.
