Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic approach that continues to grow in popularity, sparking dialogue in both clinical and non-clinical spaces. Despite its increasing visibility, many clinicians report gaps in their knowledge and understanding of the approach and often find that the only option for learning more is the 50+ hour EMDR Basic Training.

This introductory workshop is designed to provide participants with an orientation to EMDR theory, the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, and Dr. Francine Shapiro’s conceptualization of trauma and its impact on the brain. While this workshop is not a substitute for formal EMDR Basic Training, participants will leave with practical techniques, foundational case conceptualization skills, a clearer understanding of when it may be appropriate to refer clients for EMDR therapy, and greater insight into whether pursuing EMDR Basic Training is the right fit for their professional goals.

This is an in-person workshop that will be held on Washington University’s Danforth Campus. The exact location and directions will be emailed to registered participants before the course date.

General Admission: $65**
