BRWN-0110011 - Mastering Trauma-Focused Therapy: Advancing Clinical Proficiency in CPT and PE
Preferred registration deadline: November 13th
3 CEs
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) are first-line, evidence-based treatments for adults with PTSD. While many clinicians have foundational knowledge of these protocols, delivering them effectively in real-world practice requires a higher level of trauma-focused therapy proficiency.
This intermediate workshop is designed to strengthen clinicians’ ability to implement CPT and PE by refining the core clinical skills essential to trauma processing. This workshop will focus on common challenges that arise during treatment and how to address them in ways that maintain fidelity while optimizing outcomes. Participants will examine key areas of difficulty, including treatment engagement, avoidance, and homework adherence, as well as protocol-specific core clinical skills within CPT and PE. Emphasis will be placed on therapist stance, clinical decision-making, and the balance of flexibility and fidelity in delivering trauma-focused interventions. Through applied clinical examples and guided discussion, participants will develop practical strategies to enhance their effectiveness and confidence in delivering CPT and PE in routine clinical practice.
This is an interactive synchronous distance learning course via Zoom.
