During the Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt formed several programs to sponsor works of art and architectural projects, provide employment, build infrastructure, and promote creative art.  Many projects were sponsored through the Works Progress Administration, the Civil Conservation Corps, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the Treasury Relief Art Program. We will review how the agencies operated, the programs for art and architecture, the resulting works, and the cultural impacts.
