For almost 30 years, ragtime music was the rage of the popular culture in the US.  We’ll take a look at its roots and follow ragtime’s progression until after WWI when jazz and the Roaring Twenties took over the popular music scene.  St. Louis was the center of the ragtime music scene in those early years of the twentieth century.  Join us as we listen to some great piano tunes from Scott Joplin and Joseph Lamb to James P. Johnson.
