Olli-00079 - African American Literature: Children of the Night, The Best Short Stories 1967 to Present

Many of the Black writers featured in Children of the Night, The Best Short Stories by Black Writers 1967 to Present bravely advanced to new experimental writing styles born during the Black Art Movement.  Stories are grouped by theme so that we may follow a subject as it was manipulated in the hands and imaginations of different Black writers over three decades.  Class discussions comparing and contrasting the stories will allow us to bear witness to a wide variety of Black experiences in the USA during the featured time period.  Note:  No class on 1/15.
